Easter is a time for renewal, celebration, and gathering with the people you love. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to bring colorful, nourishing foods to your table and create simple traditions your family will remember for years.
If you’re looking for easy Easter recipes, healthy holiday ideas, and fun food for kids, here are three festive favorites to brighten your celebration.
🥚 Colorful Deviled Eggs (A Healthy Easter Classic)
Deviled eggs are a timeless Easter favorite—and with a colorful twist, they become
a beautiful addition to your holiday table.
Ingredients
12 hard-boiled eggs
2–3 Tbsp mayonnaise
1–2 tsp mustard
Dash of salt
Food coloring (blue, red, green)
Instructions
Hard boil the eggs and allow them to cool completely.
Slice each egg in half and remove the yolks.
Mash yolks in a bowl with a fork until smooth.
Add mayonnaise, mustard, and salt. Mix until creamy.
In separate cups, prepare diluted food coloring (keep tones light for pastel colors).
Place egg whites in dye and let sit briefly until tinted.
Remove, rinse lightly, and pat dry.
Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg whites.
Serving Tip: Arrange on a white platter for a bright, spring-inspired presentation.
Nutrition Note: Eggs are rich in protein and healthy fats, helping support balanced blood sugar and sustained energy.

Joyce’s Fantastic Lemon Easter Bread (Braided Round Loaf)
This lightly sweet, citrusy bread is a perfect addition to Easter brunch. The fresh
lemon flavor pairs beautifully with tea, coffee, or fruit.
The dough is shaped into a traditional braided round loaf, giving it a festive and
homemade feel.
Ingredients
¾ cup warm water (100°F)
2 Tbsp warm water (100°F)
2 Tbsp butter, softened
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 Tbsp lemon extract
3½ cups bread flour
½ cup white sugar
1 Tbsp active dry yeast
💡 Tip: No bread machine? See notes below for an easy hand-mixing option.
Instructions
Place water, butter, eggs, lemon extract, bread flour, sugar, and yeast into a bread machine in the order listed. Select the dough setting.
When the dough cycle is complete, remove the dough and place it on a lightly floured surface.
(This completes the first rise.)Divide the dough into three equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope about 12–16 inches long.
Lay the three ropes side by side and braid them together, alternating strands as you would braid hair.
Gently coil the braid into a round loaf, tucking the end underneath to secure it.
Place the shaped dough onto a greased baking sheet or into a round cake pan. Cover loosely.
Let the dough rise at room temperature for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
(This is the second rise.)Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 20–25 minutes, or until lightly golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
✨ Optional Lemon Glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
1–2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
Stir until smooth and drizzle over warm bread.
Optional: Sprinkle a little fresh lemon zest over the glaze for extra color and flavor.
This adds a touch of sweetness and enhances the natural lemon flavor.
Serving Tip:
Serve warm with butter or alongside fresh berries. For a sweeter option, add the lemon glaze before serving.
Wellness Tip:
Pair sweet breads with protein (like eggs or yogurt) to help balance blood sugar.
Without a Bread Machine
If you don’t have a bread machine, you can still make this recipe by hand. Combine the ingredients in a large bowl, knead until smooth and elastic (about 8–10 minutes), then let the dough rise until doubled (about 1 to 1½ hours). After shaping, allow a second rise of about 1 hour before baking. The process takes a little more hands-on time, but the results are just as delicious.
